Maui Family Activities by Age

With so many activities family activities on Maui to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming to research what your family can participate in depending on your children’s ages, weights, swimming abilities and more!  We’ve created this guide to help you start planning your Maui vacation. We’ve included age, height and weight restrictions (where appropriate), as well as locations, hours and 2023 prices.  (All of these are subject to change!) 

Some activities use the same booking platform as we do, so if you see CLICK HERE TO PREVIEW AVAILABILITY, you are still booking direct with that company, but saving a step of having to search for the activity on their website!

  Name: Maui Ocean Center

• Age Minimum: 0  for the aquarium section, however, for the 3D ‘sphere’ movie, there is the following disclaimer: The Sphere is not suitable for children 3 and under due to the possibility of damage to their developing optical nerves & high volume levels.

• Description: An aquarium dedicated to Hawaiian marine life.

• Description: Molokini is one of Maui’s most incredible snorkeling destinations. The unique, crescent shaped crater is a natural marine preserve, and is home to over 250 species of tropical fish. • Age Minimum: No limit for mini-golf or riding in a shared bumper boat. Ages 4 and up can drive their own bumper boats, rock climbing starts at age 4. 
• Height or Weight Restrictions: Trampoline is between 40-150 pounds. 
• Description: Family fun park, featuring miniature golf, bumper boats, rock climbing and a bungee trampoline.

  Name: Sail Maui – Sail with the Whales Maalaea

• Description: The warm, shallow waters of Maalaea Bay make an ideal location for humpback whales to mate and give birth. These whales are known for their acrobatics, and are often seen fully breaching out of the ocean! We’ll embark from Maalaea Harbor and set sail in the afternoon tradewinds. This trip is exclusively sailing, so we can head to wherever the whales may be. Trip includes beer and wine.

• Age Minimum: 0 
• Description: Sample various award-winning cheeses and meet some goats! Enjoy a full tour of the dairy farm, stop by for a casual visit, or even lend a hand during evening farm tours.

• 2023 Prices: Daily Casual Tour ($30 minutes) starts at $21 for adults and $15 for children – upgrade tours are available, but it’s free to visit the shop, and there’s usually some kids in the area by the shop, so tours aren’t required to see some goats!

• Description: The Tropical Express offers visitors an overview of Hawaii’s famous fruits and plants. Loop around the lagoon and cruise through parts of the Plantation accessible only to passengers aboard the Tropical Express. The tour includes a 15-20 minute coconut husking demonstration.

• Height/Weight/ADA Restrictions: Not ADA accessible. Guests must be able to get on and off the bus (3 large steps) about 3 times and be able to stand for about 20 minutes at a time.
