What do you get when you have 30 girls & staff, a camp dog, slip & slides, a sailing canoe, a jet ski & mini yacht, ATVs, and of course a huge fleet of surfboards? Enough activities & excitement to re-charge the lives touched at Maui Surfer Girls! It was never a dull moment at camp this year! It's hard to imagine how much we pack into a 2 week program: daily surf lessons, kite surfing, wakeboarding, snorkelling, waterfall hikes, surf olympics, dance parties, spa nite, sunsets at the dock & Haleakala crater, an island wide scavenger hunt, hawaiian arts and crafts, and all the spontaneous fun that naturally arise within our amazing community of girls and women.
All the campers and staff go through what we call, being "camp sick", instead of homesick…we miss that special community that supported us through the small journey that MSG takes us all on. I know as being the "Big Wig" for the past 10 years, it's been the journey of a lifetime. It's been an honor to mentor campers like Lila Roo, Lucy Woodward, Gaby Barsotti, Molly Ashkenas who've all gone on to become staff members at one point or another. MSG has changed my life while impacting the lives of so many girls and women involved. We all look forward to the next 10 years of growth at MSG. Enjoy my slideshow presentation of camp this year!
