Since 2004 Maui Surfer Girls has been taking various surf trips, mostly in Central America – empowering women to travel and push their comfort zones in and out of the ocean. Here’s a little history of some of MSG’s past surf trips.
This could be YOU! – Join us here in Sayulita, Mexico – Spring Break 2016!From 2004-2009, MSG private chartered a sixty foot catamaran out of Puntaranas, Costa Rica. We sailed, sportfished, and surfed down the Pacific coastline of Costa Rica, with a goal to surf one of the world’s longest lefts at Pavones. We surfed uncrowded waves unaccessible by land, while enjoying the amazing Costa Rican food cooked by the lovely crew of the Lohelani catamaran. In 2012, we travelled to Panama. We stayed on a Nationally protected island off the Pacific Coast of Panama, called Coiba Island. Similar to Costa Rica, we hired a boat to take us surfing along it’s pristine coastline. We surfed uncrowded point breaks and beach breaks, while fishing, diving, and exploring the ruins of a closed down state penitary similar to Alcatraz. In 2013, we spent a week in Sayulita, Mexico. A fun coastal beach town, Sayulita is a perfect place to enjoy a good blend of nightlife and day surf adventures for beginner to intermediate surfers. We stayed at our instructor, Gaby Barsotti, family’s cute vacation rental overlooking the town of Sayulita. Photos at the bottom of this post!
This March, we are excited to offer another surf trip to Sayulita – a perfect place for beginners and intermediate surfer girls to sharpen their surf skills and practice Spanish!
All our trips provide surf coaching, food, lodging, airport transfers and transportation in the country. Similar to all the programs at MSG, our goal is to build surfer girl confidence to charge life in and out of the waves!
