Soul Retrieval Surf Retreat – A New Program for Women!
October 17- 23, 2022 – at Camp Olowalu, Maui, Hawaii
As we are all emerging from two years of isolation, stress and trauma, Maui Surfer Girls has teamed up with some of the best therapists and healers on the island to create a unique new retreat for women. Soul Retrieval Surf Retreat allows our guests to come together with the intention of healing, growing and recharging, while enjoying the idyllic backdrop of oceanfront Camp Olowalu and West Maui.
Program Goals
We are partnering with highly-qualified therapists and energy healers to provide a transformative surf therapy experience that is truly the first of its kind. Participants will enjoy a blend of surf lessons and healing workshops during this week-long program. This creative approach to self-healing is grounded in modern psychology. Soul retrievals are a powerful, imaginative way to help you find and reconnect with parts of yourself you may have lost. With facilitated healing practices, three days of surfing, visits to Iao Valley, art, and yoga, this retreat will help you reset, recharge and reconnect. Our camp programs have always offered a safe community for women to bond, while boosting self esteem in the process. Soul Retrieval Surf Retreats are just taking it to a more intentional and transformative level.
Be Our Guest
This retreat is designed for caregivers, mothers, first-responders, or anyone who has been suffering from isolation, anxiety, or trauma in their lives, whether pandemic related or not. There will be 3 days of surfing, which will be appropriate for first time through intermediate level longboard surfers. Participants will learn how to gently maneuver the nervous system out of fight or flight just as you learn how to maneuver a surfboard!

Meet our Team
We have created a dream team from Maui Surfer Girls of our top surf therapy trained surf coaches, Kelly Potts & Kiki Martins. Therapists Julia Hengst LMFT, Jane Woodward, LICSW & Nicole Nakamura, LMHC, who are trauma-informed with a combined three decades of experience, will be providing self-healing tools from many therapeutic backgrounds. We are also partnering with Dr. Kristopher Martin, a somatic energy healer with years of experience running transformative healing retreats in Maui. Yogini Cara Griffin will also be present to facilitate yoga for our guests.
There are so many great life lessons that surfing a wave can teach us about ourselves! Riding out challenging emotions can be similar to riding a wave. Sense of Place
Maui is the perfect backdrop for healing and adventure. In the fall, the whales start to show up which is special to witness. We’ve learned from over 20 years of surf camps at Camp Olowalu, that there’s a special kind of magic along that Olowalu coastline. We listen to the ocean from our cabins, watch the sunrise over Haleakala, and the stars are magnificent if it’s a new moon. We’ve even had the endangered Monk seal rest near a cabin once during our camp!
Retreat Yourself
All meals, lodging, on-island transportation and activities are included. Some activities, such as massages, will be optional and an additional fee. Airfare is not included. This camp with be alcohol-free. The tuition is $3500 (+taxes/fees), secure your spot with a deposit of $825 (+taxes/fees). Balance is due 60 days before camp start date, and will be withdrawn automatically from the credit card on file. The retreat will have a maximum of 12 participants.
