What a bittersweet week it is. This Thursday, August 8th, marks the one year anniversary of the fires. Our surf school and offices will be closed.
With intense hardships and disasters come stories of resilience, and an incredible story about the community that Dustin has created here with Maui Surfer Girls was special enough to make front page news today.
Based on the success of the GoFundMe (click for link) that Dustin created hours after the fires, she was interviewed last week by the Honolulu Star Advertiser. The paper is now subscription only for online viewing, so we’ve included it below.
For anyone looking to support fire victims on this special week, Mana O Maui is collecting donations towards scholarships for the upcoming Soul Retrieval Surf Retreat in October. CLICK HERE TO DONATE.
