When Kelly Potts is not traveling the world as a prAna ambassador, or hosting a free surf clinic for girls and women around Maui and for First Nation tribes around the West Coast, she’s serving as a surf coach at our teen and women’s camps, and teaching surf lessons to our students. This year Kelly celebrated TEN YEARS of working with Maui Surfer Girls, (see the video below of her getting her ‘surprise gift’)… Mahalo to Kelly for all that you do for our campers and students!
Read what our Tripadvisor travelers had to say about Kelly:
“I always wanted to learn how to surf but never tried until I came to Maui. We were apart of a semi-private lesson which was great. One instructor for two students. Kelly was our instructor and we could not have asked for a better teacher. She was very knowledgeable, encouraging, and chill. She made the experience that much more enjoyable. High recommend Maui Surfer Girls! Also get ready for a workout. We were exhausted after two hours and I work out regularly.” @California to Oregon
“My daughters had a lesson with Kelly and loved it. It was their highlight of the week! Kelly explained in-depth the process and gave them to info needed to ride the waves. They caught many waves and we’re tired by the end of the 2 hours. Great time and highly recommend!!” @ATripAdvisorReviewer
“We had so much fun during our first surf lesson with MSG. Kelly did an amazing job in teaching us how to surf – She was a really inspiring, motivating and patient teacher. We felt safe and comfortable the entire time.
Awesome experience, THANK YOU! :)” @Darja B

A note from Kelly: “Last year I hosted an event for Makah Tribal women in Washington. Thanks to GoFundMe supporters, we had an incredible day surfing, eating food, and reflecting on the great benefits of being out in nature and on the water. So thank you all very much for helping provide this experience for our First Nation Women!
This is my seventh year providing free surfing programs for local girls and women on Maui, to help build supportive female surfing communities.”
