Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be an advanced surfer to attend your camp?

No, we specialize in beginners for our Maui camps.  If you have intermediate to advanced skills, our Kauai and Costa Rica trips are for you.

Can I bring my own surfboard?

Of course!  We have a great quiver of boards to choose from at our Maui camps, but by all means bring your own if you have one.  You must bring your own board to our Kauai and Costa Rica camps.

Does MSG provide airport pick-ups?

Yes we do.  For no additional cost, we will pick up and drop off our campers at the airport at our pre-disignated times and locations.  For more details read our travel arrangement form.  (link to that form)

What are the accommodations like?

Our Maui camp facility are 6 -  A-frame cabins right on the ocean at Olowalu, on Maui’s west shore.  We are located only 5 minutes from our surfbreaks.  We have dining room facility, showers, hammocks in trees, beach volleyball court, and common areas.  Our Kauai trip is a beach camping experience.  We will be showering at beach parks, and camping on Kauai’s east shore.  Our Costa Rica trip is held on a 60 foot catamaran.  We sleep, eat, and surf off of the catamaran.  It’s very deluxe and comfortable.

If my daughter is eleven and has been to sleep-away camp in the past, can she attend your Maui overnight camp?

Yes, we’ve made exceptions for eleven year olds in the past.  They must be independent and comfortable being away from home for the duration of camp.

Do you have any discounts or scholarships available?

Maui Surfer Girls is always trying to make their programs more affordable.  We have partnered up with our sponsors to help start a scholarship fund each year.  If there is money available we will make an announcement on our website.  Please contact Dustin at dustin@mauisurfergirls.com if you’d like to inquire about any discounts.
